IDENTIFY THE KEY INFLUENCERS Identify employees who are influencers within their peer groups and the company. These employees can become champions of the change and serve as role models (and even trainers). Having the right people involved who will champion your project is key to the success of the project. 6. ESTABLISH THE STEERING COMMITTEE Establish a steering committee including executive, mangement and employee stakeholders who will lead the change. A communications plan ensures everyone is kept in the loop as to where the project is at and what's coming next. Communicate in a variety of ways to keep the team engaged and informed. Some ways to provide project updates are brown bag lunches, company newsletters, email updates, demonstrations of the new solution, presentations at department meetings and through an employee portal. 8. FEEDBACK Provide vehicles for feedback as the process goes from all end users. Providing quick surveys or a portal where anyone can provide feedback on the project will allow you to identify and address challenges, training issues and roadblocks right away. Have a process in place to make sure all questions are responded to quickly. 7. CREATE A COMMUNICATIONS PLAN Pro Tip: Make sure the steering committee members are representative of and respected by their peer groups and will be able to identify when roadblocks or resistance need to be addressed. 9. UPDATE THE EXECUTIVE TEAM Attend executive meetings to update them on the project status. Attending leadership meetings allows you to respond to questions and communicate the current project status, technology, change management efforts, and other issues as well as to share when key milestones in the project have been achieved.
