13 Recommending Colleagues on LinkedIn – Endorsements Endorsements make it easy to put in a positive word for a connection without actually writing a recommendation. You can only endorse the skills of people you are connected with. 1. Log in to LinkedIn, and you will arrive at your home page. In the search bar at the very top of your homepage, type the name of the individual that you would like to endorse. You must be connected in order to give the individual an endorsement. 2. Once you have opened their profile, scroll down to locate their Skills & Endorsements section. You will see a list of skills that the individual has added to their profile. Click Endorse to provide an endorsement on any skills they have provided. In order to receive endorsements of your own, it is recommended to add relevant skills to your profile. This way, your connections will be more likely to recommend you for something you are actually qualified in and not something more random. 1. Log in to LinkedIn, and you will arrive at your home page. Move your cursor over "Profile" at the top of your homepage and click "Edit Profile". 2. Scroll down to locate the Skills & Endorsements section of your profile. 3. Click Add Skill. 4. Ensure that you have all boxes checked in order to receive endorsements from others on LinkedIn. 5. Type in a relevant skill that you would like to add and click Add. The notification on the bottom left corner tells you the number of remaining skills you can add.
